Thank you for your interest in the services of our firm. We are comprehensive financial planners and investment advisors offering WealthCare. Our clients tell me that my staff and I take most of the fear and confusion out of managing finances. We provide a high level of very personal service and comfort to a limited number of people, helping them list their goals, organize their financial affairs, manage their investments and follow through cost-effectively on all the details. We focus specifically on those individuals whose financial situations require a high level of expertise, coordination and analytical sophistication; those who are serious about accumulating and preserving wealth. Our clients face mid-life financial pressures, time poverty, and an overload of investment information. Our purpose is to provide our clients with wise counsel in the management of their financial affairs so that they may experience satisfaction and peace of mind. We begin by taking you through a gentle information-gathering process, to discover where you are, and where you want to go, financially. There is no charge for this interview, during which we each learn more about one another. Should you then choose to retain us as financial planners, in a series of letters, conferences, and telephone calls, we will recommend the best ways for you to reach your objectives: a college or retirement fund, asset management or estate planning, for instance. Where it is appropriate, we’ll provide you with access to other qualified professionals for legal, banking, accounting, or insurance services and coordinate their efforts for you, in order to save you time and money. As an investment manager, initially we act primarily as an advisor on strategy (see Note), subsequently retaining and monitoring appropriate investment counsel or mutual funds to implement it. Our primary responsibility to you is to manage risk. We use no-load mutual funds where possible, (including some load funds available on a no-load basis to our clients,) keeping your costs to a minimum. You will also benefit from our use of discount brokerages, institutional funds, and economies of scale. As fee-only financial planners, we bill my time at $300 an hour, with a two-hour minimum. As an asset manager, we charge one and one-quarter percent (1.25%) or less per year of the investments in my responsibility. Minimum account size for active management is $250,000. We do not sell securities or insurance and fully disclose costs or possible conflicts of interest. Our only source of income is fees from clients. Respectfully, Curt Weil, CFP Note: We first assist you in forming an investment strategy appropriate to your needs, tax circumstances, and to your tolerance for risk and complexity. Strategy means forming a view of potential future economic possibilities, and then taking the correct investment posture. Based on the precepts of Modern Portfolio Theory, we believe that, to keep risk to a minimum, you must diversify among various investment areas: cash, U.S. and foreign stocks and bonds, real estate, and natural resources. Our responsibility is to manage the day-to-day tactical matters of selecting, and monitoring the specific investments, typically no-load mutual funds (including index funds), closed-end funds, and individual bonds – taxable or tax-free as appropriate. • Curt Weil is a Certified Financial Planner licensee and a Registered Investment Advisor.
