Shelley Brink was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in the nearby suburb of Rockville, Maryland. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Maryland with a double major in Finance and Management Science. After several years of experience in the financial field (as an accountant with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as an analyst with a national mortgage company, as a junior economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City), she went into semi-retirement for a few years to stay at home with her, then young, children. During “retirement”, she helped to organize an electrical contracting business and served as its accountant. Shelley re-entered the workforce in customer service, and is now Client Service Specialist with National Advisors Trust. Shelley is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and in 2007 recieved the Thanks Badge, the highest award bestowed upon volunteers, as recognition for her hundreds of hours donated annually to the organization. Her volunteer hours are often spent atop a zipline or rappel platform, facilitating high-ropes challenge programs. |
